Voting irregularities have been reported in municipalities still in the hands of the opposition.
According to the CIP Election bulletin 149 edition, ballot papers ran out before all voters registered at a polling station in Milange, Zambézia province, had cast their ballots, while more voters were still arriving.
Mais Integridade, a civil society observer group, reported that voting was interrupted in 15 percent of polling stations, especially in Nampula and Zambézia. And voters were impeded in 18 percent of polling stations, mainly in Nampula, Maputo province, Inhambane, Niassa and Tete.

There’s an emerging pattern here. In places where Frelimo is the opposition, or where the municipality is in Frelimo’s hands but the opposition is quite strong, the game is not fair.
There are all sorts of underhanded moves afoot in order to ensure that the order “take everything” wins the day, as can be seen by the various reports from opposition strongholds.
It will be interesting to see whether the opposition or civil society observing the process will tolerate these shenanigans.
